Tax “Reform” The Tax Reform bill or “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” as it is quaintly called, may have a few good points in it. However, the bottom line is that there is going to be a huge loss of tax revenue, with scant likelihood of much benefit accruing to the lower or middle income brackets. The jobs it is supposed to magically create are probably pie in the sky. What is certain is that the loss of revenue will create future cuts in programs and entitlements. Action: Contact your senators and representatives to say that you oppose the tax reform bill because taxation revenue is a vital and necessary part of any modern democracy. If the bottom line is that tax revenue is less because of this bill, then it’s a mistake. www.senate.gov www.house.gov
