Oppose Kelly Knight Craft Trump’s pick to be the next U.S. ambassador to the U.N. is Kelly Knight Craft, climate change denier and wife of coal billionaire Joseph W. Craft III. She is being awarded the position as a result of her considerable financial support of the G.O.P. and is in no way qualified for the job. Action: Contact your senators and ask them to oppose the appointment of Kelly Knight Craft as next U.N. ambassador. This important and complex job should not be handed over as a reward for giving money. Iranian Woman Condemned Nasrin Soutoudeh, an Iranian lawyer and civil rights activist has been sentenced to 148 lashes and 38 years in prison for defending women who removed their headscarves in protest against the law requiring women to wear them. Action: 1. Sign the Change.org petition to the U.S. State Department asking them to call for Ms. Soutoudeh’s immediate and unconditional release. 2. Sign Amnesty International’s petition to the Supreme Leader of Iran on her behalf. 3. The U.S. and Iran do not have diplomatic relations. The Embassy of Pakistan represents Iranian interests in the United States. Send a message to Iran through this Embassy asking them to release Nasrin Soutoudeh immediately. The majority of Americans believe that the U.S. should remain in the Paris Agreement. Action: Contact your Member of Congress and ask them to support H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act.
