Trump Threatens Civil Rights


The Trump administration is dismantling civil rights protections in several federal agencies. Specifically he is disbanding or shrinking:

• the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, which ensures that federal contracts are awarded fairly;
• the EPA’s environmental justice program, which offers assistance to residents in minority communities who are fighting to protect their neighborhoods from local polluters;
• the Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights which investigates complaints of discrimination in schools and colleges.

Action:

Contact your senators to demand that they use their oversight duty to challenge Trump’s attacks on civil rights and to protect our vulnerable citizens and communities.
