Reunite Families Trump’s June 20 executive order stopping the practice of separating migrant families at the border only goes so far. It doesn’t end the “zero tolerance” policy which lead to the problem in the first place, nor does it do anything to help reunite families who have already been separated. The children remain designated as “Unaccompanied Alien Children,” and neither the Department of Health and Human Services nor the Office of Refugee Resettlement have been directed to locate these children and return them to their rightful guardians. Many of these children have been dispersed throughout the country, and Gov. Cuomo of New York was shocked to discover that hundreds of these kids were in facilities in his state. Action: 1. Contact your Member of Congress and ask them to direct the Department of Health and Human Services to find the stolen children and return them to their families. 2. Contact the Governor of your state and ask them to immediately find out whether any of these abducted migrant children are located in your state, and if so to move heaven and earth to reunite them with their parents.
