ICE Detention Centers
There are plans afoot to house unaccompanied migrant children on federal properties such as former army bases, such as Fort Still in Oklahoma. These facilities would not be subject to investigation or oversight by state child welfare authorities.
Contact the Governor of your state and ask them to get back to you and tell you whether or not they are aware of any plans to house migrant children in your state and whether they know will run these facilities. Ask them to refuse to collaborate with ICE, and demand that any children housed in your state are protected by local state child welfare laws and authorities and are afforded all the same educational opportunities as native-born children in your state.
