As all y’all’s heads are probably exploding right about now, and as it’s Saturday anyway, let’s have a change of pace. There are bills currently before the House and Senate which would extend the requirement of employers to provide reasonable break time for nursing mothers.
1. Email your Member of Congress and ask them to support HR 3255, the Supporting Working Moms Act of 2017. Or if your MoC is one of the co-sponsors, email to thank them.
2. Email your Senators and ask them to support S 2122 the Supporting Working Moms Act of 2017. Or if your Senator is one of the co-sponsors, email to thank them.
We recently contacted our Members of Congress asking them to support Rep. Speier’s resolution which would require all representatives and staff to complete anti-sexual harassment training. This resolution passed the House unanimously on Wednesday, and a similar version has also recently passed the Senate. If you like, contact your MoC to thank them for supporting this measure.
