President’s Tax Returns Trump said he’d show his tax returns. We knew he wouldn’t, and sure enough he didn’t. We know why he didn’t. And the reason he didn’t is the same reason he shouldn’t be president. One assumes. There is a House bill, H.R. 540 which would require the President to submit his tax returns for every year he is in office, and the three years prior to taking office, to the Office of Government Ethics, which would then make the information publicly available on the Internet Action: 1. Contact your Member of Congress to say that you hope they will cosponsor H.R. 540. If your MoC is already a cosponsor, thank them. 2. The bill has been referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Contact the chairman of the committee, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC-4) and ask him to expedite passage of the bill through committee.
