Beto O’Rourke


Our boy Beto, Congressman from El Paso, recently posted a photo on Instagram of a view from the mountains near El Paso. Here’s what he wrote about the picture:

Foreground is El Paso, Texas, USA. In the distance is Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Largest binational community in the Western Hemisphere. Most beautiful place on the planet to me. El Paso is one of the safest cities in America, not in spite of the fact that we are a city of immigrants and connected to Mexico, but because we are the city of destination from people from the world over. We don’t need a wall. We don’t need to send the U.S. military to patrol us. We need to be proud of who we are and what we contribute to the success of this country.

We believe these are fine and noble sentiments, which we would like to see reflected by all our representatives in Washington.
