Iranian Woman Condemned Nasrin Soutoudeh, an Iranian lawyer and civil rights activist has been sentenced to 148 lashes and 38 years in prison for defending women who removed their headscarves in protest against the law requiring women to wear them. Action: 1. Sign the Change.org petition to the U.S. State Department asking them to call for Ms. Soutoudeh’s immediate and unconditional release. 2. Sign Amnesty International’s petition to the Supreme Leader of Iran on her behalf. 3. The U.S. and Iran do not have diplomatic relations. The Embassy of Pakistan represents Iranian interests in the United States. Send a message to Iran through this Embassy asking them to release Nasrin Soutoudeh immediately.
