Mueller, McConnell, etc. Mitch McConnell apparently has his head in the sand and thinks there is “no indication” that Trump will fire Mueller. Fortunately, Senator Grassley (R-IA) doesn’t agree and says he plans for the Judiciary Committee to take up the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act so that it can clear his Committee and be voted on by the whole Senate. Action: 1. Contact Senator Grassley and thank him for shepherding this legislation to protect Mueller. 2. Contact Senator McConnell and ask him to bring the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act up for a floor vote by the whole Senate after it has cleared committee. 3. Even if you have already done so, contact your own senators and ask them to support the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act. 4. Contact your MoC, and ask them to support the related House bills, H.R. 5476 and H.R. 5505. They may already be a co-sponsor, but it doesn’t hurt to let them know you care.
