To make matters worse, some Democrats are backing the plan. Action: Call your Senators and tell them to KEEP the banking regulations adopted after the ‘08 financial crisis. They were put there for a reason, and removing them reintroduces the conditions which lead to the crisis in the first place. Even Donald Trump has called for the Saudis to back off and allow humanitarian aid to get through. The situation is dire for Yemeni civilians. Senators Bernie Sanders (D-VT), Mike Lee (R-UT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) have invoked the War Powers Act to end U.S. involvement in Yemen. Action: Contact your Senators and ask them to back up Sanders, Lee, and Murphy in calling for a cessation of U.S. military aid to the Saudis in Yemen. If one of these gentlemen IS your Senator, be sure to thank him. |
