C.H.I.P. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is an artifact from those golden days when an unlikely partnership such as Orrin Hatch and Ted Kennedy could produce a useful and compassionate piece of legislation like this. Although it has received continued bipartisan support since it was introduced, it has become a pawn in the whole repeal-and-replace farrago. Funding for the program is about to expire, and the nine million children covered by it will be at risk for losing their health care. Action: Email and/or fax your Member of Congress and ask them what urgent actions they are taking to ensure the continuation of CHIP. Ask them to put it at the top of their list. Ask for a personal and detailed reply to your specific question. Make sure to include your address if you send a fax.
